Chi le avrà messe li?

Dall'African Press Agency, 14/08/08:

APA-Maputo (Mozambique) A Mozambican woman, Virginia Matavele, gave birth to three teacups in the southern province of Gaza, an incident described by traditional healers as normal and a natural phenomenon, independent television station STV reported here on Thursday.
The station showed the footage of the crockery and said the 18-year-old woman who lives in Nhakutsi locality of Xai Xai gave birth to the teacups on her way to a hospital after she had complained of labour related pains.
Images of the teacups were shown on the television statio, where the woman reported she was previously three months pregnant.
No scientific explanation was given for the strange occurrence but the Mozambican association of traditional healers, Ametramo, told the station that there was nothing strange about the issue.
“This is not strange. It’s common in Africa where supernatural powers are stronger,” said Aulerio Demoraz, president of Ametramo.
“Similar cases have occurred in some parts of the world due to witchcraft,” he added.
He said there was need to treat the woman with traditional medicines in order to exorcise “evil spirits” which had resulted in her giving birth to the teacups.
